President Bola Tinubu says he prayed for wisdom and strength to continue serving Nigerians when he was allowed inside the Holy Kaaba in Makkah during his Umrah trip to Saudi Arabia.

In a statement released on Monday, the President thanked King Salman, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation entry into the Kaaba, a privilege given to very few visitors.

Tinubu said he believed his prayer had been answered. He added that he was hopeful about the economy, which he said now rests on firmer ground, and repeated his commitment to national development and to investing in young people.

Those with him included Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi, Health Minister Ali Pate, and the governors of Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara states. Businessmen Abdulsamad Rabiu of BUA and Wale Tinubu of Oando were also part of the group.

The President travelled to Saudi Arabia last week for the lesser hajj, where he also led prayers for peace, unity and stability in Nigeria.
