Nottingham Forest gave Manchester City another bad afternoon, winning 3-1 at the City Ground in Saturday's late kick-off. It is City's second league defeat in a row, after they lost 1-0 at home to Brighton last weekend. Nigerian defender Ola Aina is a Forest player.

Arsenal stayed on course with a narrow 1-0 home win over Hull City, a week after their 1-0 victory at Liverpool.

In the early game, Leeds United beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at Elland Road. Fulham, with Super Eagles pair Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, drew 1-1 with Newcastle United at Craven Cottage. On Friday night, Everton beat Coventry City 3-1.

Saturday's results: Leeds 1-0 Tottenham; Arsenal 1-0 Hull City; Fulham 1-1 Newcastle; Nottingham Forest 3-1 Manchester City.

Today (UK time): Brighton v Brentford, Crystal Palace v Liverpool, Ipswich Town v Bournemouth and Sunderland v Chelsea, all at 2pm; Manchester United v Aston Villa at 4.30pm.

The league then pauses for the international break, which includes Nigeria's AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania.
