Yemen: Houthi missile strike on Al-Dhalea training camp kills 13 army recruits, 65 wounded
PauseandPonderTV · Fri, 6 Nov 2026The new recruits were doing morning exercises when the camp was hit, a government military official said.
Thirteen young recruits to Yemen's government army have been killed and 65 injured in a missile attack on a military training centre in the south of the country.
A government military official, who asked not to be named, told China's Xinhua news agency that the missile hit the camp in Qatabah district, in northern Al-Dhalea province, on Wednesday morning while the new recruits were exercising. He blamed the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
The Houthis had not publicly claimed the attack at the time of reporting.
It is the latest deadly strike on government forces since fighting resumed in September. In October, a Houthi missile attack on the al-Alam camp reportedly killed more than 70 soldiers.
The attack came on the same day the Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of launching more than 100 air and missile strikes on areas they control, killing civilians including children. The fighting has pulled Saudi Arabia deeper into the conflict, with Houthi missiles and drones fired at Saudi airports and oil facilities.
