Yemen: at least 30 civilians killed in strike on Taiz market as Houthis and government trade blame
PauseandPonderTV · Sat, 7 Nov 2026The Houthis say Saudi jets bombed al-Hadara market three times. Government forces say a Houthi ballistic missile hit it. Neither claim can be verified.
At least 30 civilians have been killed and eight injured in an attack on a busy market in Yemen's Taiz province, according to the Houthi authorities.
The strike hit al-Hadara market in al-Waziiya district on Friday, 6 November. The two sides in Yemen's war are blaming each other.
The Houthi-run health ministry said Saudi Arabia carried out three airstrikes on the market, calling it a horrific crime. Yemen's government forces, which are backed by Saudi Arabia, said the market was hit by a Houthi ballistic missile. Their spokesman, Colonel Majed al-Nazili, described it as a war crime. The Saudi-led coalition had not commented, and the death toll could not be independently confirmed.
It is the second deadly attack on civilians in Taiz reported this week. As PauseandPonderTV reported on Friday, Houthi officials said Saudi strikes on homes in the province had killed at least 12 civilians, half of them children, and a Houthi missile killed 13 army recruits at a training camp in Al-Dhalea.
UN officials have warned again and again that Taiz city faces a humanitarian disaster, where food and medicine are running short as fighting that resumed in September continues.
