Ebola alert: NCDC isolates two suspected patients in the North-East
PauseandPonderTV · Sun, 1 Nov 2026Neither case is confirmed. Tests and contact tracing are under way.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) says two people in the North-East are being treated as suspected Ebola cases.
In an update on Saturday, 31 October, the agency said both patients have been isolated and samples sent for laboratory testing. Health officials are also tracing and listing everyone they had contact with.
The NCDC stressed that neither case has been confirmed, and that a suspected case only becomes an Ebola diagnosis once laboratory tests come back positive. It has not said which state the patients are in.
The agency is urging people to wash their hands regularly, keep their surroundings clean and follow advice from health authorities. It says it will share more information once the test results are known.
Ebola is a serious viral illness spread through contact with the body fluids of an infected person. Anyone with sudden fever, weakness, vomiting or unexplained bleeding, especially after contact with a sick person, should seek medical care quickly.
