Okinbaloye: rigging of 2027 polls has already started in the voters' register

Broadcast journalist Seun Okinbaloye has warned that the 2027 elections are already being manipulated through the voters' register, long before anyone casts a ballot.
Speaking on Friday on Channels Television's Politics Today, which he presents, Okinbaloye said there were early signs across the country of underage registration, people registered more than once and names that do not belong to real voters.
He argued that rigging is no longer only an election-day problem, and urged INEC to carry out a full audit of the register now and remove fake, dead and underage entries.
He did not give figures, and INEC had not responded to his comments by Sunday morning.
His warning comes as INEC prepares to publish the final register on 15 December. Separately, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has asked the commission to name the officials responsible for AI-generated photographs found on the register.
